you know i had an empty wah shell and wanted to do something with it...

so i started asking questions, looking at loads of different schematics, reading about wahs... and came up with a schematic myself. one wah became three wahs, one wah pot became 2 wah pots, an LFO, an envelope and an LDR.
basicly i've got an effect now that won't fit into the wah shell unless i attach another enclosure to it :icon_lol:

here's what i've got right now: http://users.pandora.be/vandijckheffen/bert/whackywah.gif

i would like some opinions and i was wondering if there is a way to get some slight overdrive in there too, maybe something with the input buffers?

Nice, not sure I understand it all but it looks cool. I like the random LFO  ;)
If you want a bit of overdrive you could replace the input buffer with something like a fetzer valve booster

nelson

Just put some diodes somewhere, the highest gain inverting opamp stage feedback loop, diodes to ground after a higher gain opamp stage.

Nice work.

ow i forgot to mention you in the list at the bottom :o

top left is a colorsound inductorless with some mods and ideas from circuit snippets and phase inverter added.
in the middle is a nurse quacky.
top right is a gargler filter.
they are wired in parallel and all three have input buffer and output buffer.
the connections for various resistance to ground are small cables that go to a little patch bay with 5 different modulations.

first one middle left is an envelope follower, wich can be triggered from a seperate input.
next is the open LDR circuit from the photon filter.
then there is the LFO of the tremulus lune with added random LFO.
bottom left finally are the 2 pots from the wah rocker.

there is a true bypass relay for each wah that can be switched by an spdt stomp. if the circuit is patched to one of the pots in the wah rocker, it will switch on as soon as the switch in the wah rocker isn't connected to ground anymore. (an idea i posted earlier in this thread: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=44743.0

i know the patch bay is a little weird but i couldn't come up with a better switching solution.

that's cool, I never even noticed the list. I can't claim any credit for that idea anyway it's just nice to see that someone else thinks my version is worth using :)

then i would need to add some kind of higher gain stage and diodes, and adding stuff is something i try not to do in this schematic anymore (except maybe for a gain pot). i was mor thinking of modding a gainstage or 2 that's allready there to be able to dial in a little boost to overdrive the next stage a tiny bit. just to make it sound a bit raunchy. add some grit in one or two filters so it doesn't all sound too smooth.

and maybe some tone options in the first one...

is there nobody that sees stupid mistakes? way to difficult ways to achieve something in the schematic? things that are really wrong? better ideas? cool mods? nothing? :icon_eek:

i was just thinking, maybe i can add some overdrive or just plain crazyness with the 3 leftover stages of the CD40106? what can i do with that chip?
