When I switch the switch to off, there is no sound is let through. When i engage the pedal it sounds really bad. I havnt biased the trimpots yet because i dont really know how to do it...Any suggestions to whats up with the switching?

I have tried to bias my  transistors via turning the trimpots. The voltage doesnt seem to change when I rotate them. Where sould I be measuring at? As of now I have been measuring directly on the transitor pins.  Also what could be wrong with my switch? I have double check me wiring and all seems well.
here is a link to the project in which i am talking about.

You want to measure between ground and the pin closest to the trimpot.

I got the circuit working..My tone pot doesnt hardly change the sound at all.  It has ALOT of bass. You guys that have built this circuit how effective is your tone knob. What should I be expecting? If my tone knob is not working properly where is  a good place to start looking for errors?  Thanks,
