Very Nice!
I never thought of locating the battery to the side like that.
I always locate it behind the switch ala Keeley etc. etc.
Great job though, I like 'em.
Knowing your electronic work, I bet they sound just as good too!

Hey Dragonfly,

I just love these hybrid NPN fuzzes, they're simple and sound great.  The l'il Devel I built from your schematic is still my favorite but I've settled on a BC108 for Q1, now I want to put in a toggle switch so I can brighten it up a little.  What value do you suggest ?

Where did you get your AC187 trannies ?

Nice! Where do you get those nipples for your led's? Im tired of those standard Rat Shack chrome ones that stick offf the surface too much.

Thanks...glad you like it...this is similar, but i think a bit smoother and more "vintage" sounding, without all the "woofiness" inherent to typical FF's...

Banzaii carries them...the circuit sounds great with "most" NPN germaniums....

here's the circuit...its really nothing groundbreaking, but it sounds great with a variety of instruments / amps, and cleans up nicely with the volume knob...

enjoy !

that being said, i'm pretty sure Banzaii sells them...

i like the .68 input cap size..  a .47 is good too ...i use a  .022 on the output of these.

you might also try using a toggle to switch the cap off of Q2's emitter...maybe switch between a 10uF and a 1uF or something similar...changes how the fuzz "behaves" a bit.
