Real McTube II build question for Paul Marossy.

In reading about the mods you used in your build brought a question to me. You changed RV2 to 1M and omitted R9. The two in the origional  schematic would have limited their combined resistance to about 83,333 ohms..Wonder why that was done?

No idea other than that's what pot he had on hand and that's what he ended up doing to get it to sound the way that he liked. We can't ask Fred about it since he has left Planet Earth for good.

Thanks for the reply. Was just wondering. I am in the process of building it. Using Radio Shack 450 mA ct transformers with the Mods you made. Going to try a 12Ax7 and a 12AT7 tube to see what difference I get in the performance. (don't have the 12AU7)
