Ok, so I was still getting the 'warm' thing with the C9 cap, so (just for giggles) I swapped out the TL062 IC's for TL072's. When I powered it up, I felt the cap as it was coming on to see if it was heating up at all. It wasn't (after about 30sec), so I connected everything and I wasn't getting any sound at all; the (non-photocell) LEDs weren't lighting up. So, I unplugged everything and checked it out. Turns out that the wire going from the (+) on the power jack was broken. I swapped it out for a new one and it worked fine. Actually, it really sounds great. I don't think I'll EVER use the 'vibrato' function as the phasey 'chorus' is the real sound of this circuit.

But.......
I waited. And waited. And waited........and the C9 cap wasn't warming up at all! I'm wondering if something on the power supply wire was contributing to that? I don't know, and don't really care. All I know is that I'm going to get some 'fresh' 470uF caps and load them up in there, wire up the power LED and forget about it. Honestly, I didn't hear any difference between the TL072 and the TL062 ICs, but it could just be me. I'll record some clips if I can get around to it this weekend. I like this circuit and it's a keeper.

First, congrats.  Sometimes you just need to wait for the clouds to pass over and the sun will eventually shine through.

Second, the TL062 will be a bit hissier than the TL072.  If your rig refuses to register hiss (and some do), then stick with the 62s because they draw less current.  If not, switch to the 72s.

Thanks, Mark. I'm not having any audible problems with the TL062's, so I'll leave them in.

I also forgot to add: I'm still not getting ANY ticking whatsoever. I can kinda hear that background 'air' swirling, but no ticks or chirps like my SRRI's tremolo.
This baby is QUI-ET!!
