For those who wish to try one, here is a link to a free one.

Click on  the "Free Switcher CAD" on the left menu.

Hello

I just add that with this software, you can set a Wavefile as input, and as output of the sim, so you can hear the audio processing.
You can hear some sample from a plexi + amz booster, twice simulated in PSPICE, here : http://www.techniguitare.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2175&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=75

Thanks for the comment. At least now I know someone is using it.

Btw, the link you posted send us to a french Forum and ask for a login... Ok, I registered.

So you mean that this wav was from a simulated circuit?

Thanks,

Btw, welcome to the forum, your website also has some nice boxes you made.

Hi Gilles

I'm sorry, I didn't remind that registration was required ... You could find all samples here : http://f.defaut.free.fr/compos/
(all files named preampplexi-xxx.wav, and preamptwin-xxx.xav).
And yes, the sample is a guitar loop that I recorded, set as input of the sim (amzbooster + preamp simulated), and I get the output as a wave file.
Then I put a Cab Sim (with SIR plugin), and voila !
Very nice to test some circuit, before building them !

Thanks

edit : I add that you should modify your title, and add a few words about the emulation things (" A free Spice program available : emulate your stompboxes", or something like that) ;)

You can find a flash demo that shows all you need to know to use your audio samples in the simulator :

http://www.freewebs.com/ocarnal/demos/wave.htm

(comments are in french, but it's more graphical than textual - ask me if you doesn't understand !)

Merci pour le demo. Ça devrait aller pour le francais pour moi... je suis de Québec.  ;)

Sorry guys!

Very nice demo.

I spent all afternoon messing with the LFO from a Phase 90 in this thing :D (and have managed to turn it into a tone generator :icon_twisted: )
much easier to use than describing the circuits in a text editor :S

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I put a schematic into it, but I'm not sure how to add the power source or what to do with the inputs and outputs. Can anyone tell me how that's done?
thanks, Dave

Sorry, nevermind, I watched the flash. I don't speak french, but I've got it now.
thanks

Good for you Z7. So I won't have any excuse, giving the fact that I speak french  :)

Btw, no question is stupid when you're not familiar with something.

I admit I discovered it the same day I posted the link. I was already using Multisim before, but the version I have doesn't seem to work on my Laptop because the program is a 2001 version. So that's why I was looking for a more recent program.

Fx, it's a good thing that you came in.

Hi

Thanks Gilles ;)
For those who understand a few words in french, there are some more exemple here : http://www.freewebs.com/ocarnal/ (links under "Démos SwitcherCAD").

Hm..this is odd. When I try to run the tutorial, I don't get a nice waveform analyzer. Is it because the freeware version is stripped down ? Also, is sound suppose to come out or a wav file is suppose to be created when you run it?

fxdfxd

Hi

I don"t understand exactly what your problem is, but I'll try to answer.
PSPICE is free, there is no non-free version, only the available version in the website given by Gilles.
As the simulation is a little bit time consuming, it's not real time, so you cannot process the line in of your sound card for example.
You must follow the given tutorial, and set a wav file as input, and a wav file as output (the output file is created, no need for an existing one).

I thought I had it, but I guess I didn't. When I went to run the simulation it just sat there and took up almost 300mb of memory, after a half of an hour I shut it down and tried again with the same results. Does the input always go in as the voltage source like in the flash demo, or is there another command like the command to output the wave for input?
thanks, Dave

I think I am getting the same results as well. I also do not have the "Select Visible Waveforms" pop up either.

Anyone know if this will run on a Mac?  I didn't want to download it just to find out, and they don't say on their site.

I'm assumming it's for Windows. It installed and ran on my WinXP machine.
