Tremulus Lune - Weak tremolo effect

I finished the tremulus lune from tonepad a few weeks ago. It sounds great with a clean tone. When I team it up with a distortion device the tremolo effect is barely audible. Ive tried different distortions, and different positions in the pedal chain, nothing makes a difference. When I A/B it with my EA tremolo, the EA is much clearer and noticable.
Is this a problem with my Tremulus Lune?.. or is it just a characteristic of this particular circuit?
If anyone has had a similar experience, I would appreciate your advice.
