Hi fellas,

I've built a multi effect containing 5 effects and powered it using a 9 vdc power brick (rated at 500mA I think) with no problems .  For my next project I plan to house ~ 12 effects in one enclosure.  What would be the best route to go about powering it (I don't really fancy using internal transformers but would prefer to use an external supply.  What sort of ampage should I be considering (as I will also be powering quite a few LED's)?.  Cheers.

I wouldn't be too surprised if you could run 12 effects on a 500mA supply (depending on the pedals), but if I were you I would save a lottttt of money and go get on ebay and find any of many 9v adapters.  I bought 2 off of a guy for like $7 each... I think they were for laptops, as they are that rectangular shape.  Anyways, they're both 2A each, which would be way more than you'll need for your effects.  I run my whole stage rig on one (8 pedals) with no problem whatsoever.  I just did a quick search on eBay and right now there's a 1.2A going for 2.99 (http://cgi.ebay.com/A-C-Adapter-DC-9V-1-2Amps-1200mA-New_W0QQitemZ270005378164QQihZ017QQcategoryZ58288QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
and a 2A going for 9.99 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Leader-Electronics-9V-2A-NU40-2090200-13-AC-Adapter_W0QQitemZ120005078823QQihZ002QQcategoryZ79845QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

That's a damn fine idea zpyder.  I'll have a nose on ebay.  Thanks.
