I've decided my sound would be improved if I were to build a boost pedal.  I've been looking around though and there seems to be a lot out there, so what would you guys reccomend as a starting point if you were to build one for a bright sounding amp (Fender Super Reverb) with a Strat.

Im kinda thinking AMZ Mosfet Booster or the Stratoblaster/Fat Blaster...

It really depends upon HOW you want to model your sound. Good to you may sound bad to me and vice-a-versa. You said your setup is pretty bright right now, how do you want it to change?

I dont know anything about the Stratoblaster/Fat Blaster but I hear the AMZ Mini-Booster is sposed to fatten/thicken your tone up pretty good.

I suppose something to add thickness to the sound, make it more full and fat.  I guess ill have to build a couple to see what sounds best to me.

Stratoblaster is a great place to start, not only does it sound like part of the name of your guitar and fendery..
It's like an NPN booster but made for Jfet...Good Circuit to try one out in !!
you mentioned this one and I've built a bunch of them...was using one to boost after a SS/before DIST-BMP a minute ago...
Anything Jfet cause I like the sound of 'em.
But I'm using a Mosfet Boost also, I have that and the DIST+ [with a B.P.Sw for each] in a box also...
If you want a litte added change try the Jfet, check out Runoff Grooves Fetzer Article for great booster mods to make a Jfet respond differently, the Jfet has a 'voice' to it.
The Mosfet will bump your amp to sound...alot like your amp but more of it's tube distortion. IME It's the cleanest of the 9v boosters.
For me every booster we've [me and my amp/guitar w/HB picups] has plenty of boost, I always have the gain or volume at a good bit less than ten.

Here's one that I saw that might fit your bill:

It's a clean boost with a tonestack. I'm thinking about building one for myself.

Do you have humbuckers or only single coils? If you're running singles you might try upgrading to humbuckers if you want to fatten up. If you get a good humbucker you can wire it for coil splitting, preserving the current sound of your single coil and adding a fatter humbucking tone to your arsenal of goodies.  ;D

I'we buildt a few boosters, and the most fattening of them all was the Snakebite from Dragonfly. Turning the gain knob makes this and good overdrivepedal too. I love the snakebite!

A good one to try is the Tripple Fuzz. At low gain settings into a clean amp, it gives a nice bit of oomph and girth. And you also have the option of cranking up the gain for more extreme "should I get the fire extinguisher out?" type sounds.
