Anyone know of a stripboard/veroboard layout for the JCM800 pedal?  I would like to build it, but a veroboard layout would make it much easier for me.

I have a working one, but "without" a drawn up layout as yet, it's a LOT of work to do
this one, due to the 7/9 opamps ( can't remember how many ) that's many hours of my own
"personal" time .

Having just posted an "Ausin Gold" overdrive layout, which has 159 views and just ONE comment
I'm tempted not to bother with anymore layouts .... for some time !!

Hey Marty,

Don't do that please. I'm one of the ones to enjoy your layouts and dragonfly's. I don't build all of them and certainly the Austin Gold wasn't one of the planned ones. I myself have posted a few veros . Either because they were not correct from scratch or whatever reason I've had just a few comments , but if I count on how many circuits I've built from your vero layouts, I see it as my very small contribution.

Don't be upset please and keep on offering those great layouts. I agree some more comments would be great though :icon_evil:

I'm not expecting a ton of "pats on the back" and "well done chap" - though some are welcome,
I like to hear if people will build it and also comments about improvements, or "move this trace here" etc
for a better layout ... blah ,,, blah ..

we'll see ..

I dont have a schematic for that one (got a link ?), but have you ever thought of doing your own ?

Did you mean the LXH2 preamp or the JCM800 emu? If you meant the latter, I could give it a try.

I'm pretty sure he means the LXH2 .... that's the one that I built on vero !

I mean the JCM800 emulator.  The second one I think.  I dont relaly understand the difference but I think its the second one.

There's no vero layout for the JCM800 Emulation that I know of yet.  Whoever does tackle doing it, use Electrictab's schematic since that one is verified and solid.  http://diy.erikhansen.net/schematics/misc/jcm800.png

I'd also like a copy to host if that's ok with whoever does it.  Credit will be given as always.

I will attempt to do a perf layout later this week.

A perf layout would be great too.  The perfect starting point is the ROG Thunderchief.  Most of the work is already done, just change a few values and add two more JFETs.  ;)  I would have done that one but time is precious these days.  Heck, I barely have time to do any DIYing these days.  It's been months since I built anything.  :(

I don't want this to come off the wrong way but this sound very demanding. Maybe you should try doing one yourself.  Bancika made a terrific program for making your own layouts and the best way to understand the effect your making is to lay it out yourself.  I'm all for sharing layouts but ultimatly making your own is very satisfying.

I'll have a go at a vero layout, looks like a challenge. Couple of questions first though
I take it J201s have a GSD pinout?
How much room do trimmers normally take up on a vero layout? I don't tend to use them so I've never tried fitting them into a layout.

KerryF

Sorry guys if I sounded rude.  I didnt mean it to come off like that.  So yea if anyone wants too, it would be nice.  I dont want someone though to spend hours on it.  Thanks.  ;D .
