I took some time off for a while and just recently came back and I have noticed a lot of threads about Dr Boogie. Where can I find a schematic, pcb image, and or layout? I have read through a lot of threads but havnt been able to get what Im looking for.

Anyone?

Hi!here comes the dr.boogey, version 1.1, there's also a 1.21 version, the 1.1 seems to have some problems, I'm about to start making the 1.21..I think you should do the upgraded version! http://olcircuits.com/documents/dual_rectifier_v1.1.pdf  http://olcircuits.com/documents/dual_rectifier_v1.21.pdf

To note..
Wasnt there an issue about using MPF 102 instead because of noise fron the J201..Also it was way to high gain.
Hate to do all that work and not have it work right.....
Every time I would use that many J201 in series it would squell!
Someone mentioned that.

These Jfets have bias considerations, and are not known for consistancy from one unit to the next of the same part#, much less when using different types, socketting seems to be a fairly common for Jfet transistors as it allows the gain to be controlled and 'structured'...you may find that a high or low gainer in Q1 or Q2 is preferrable, someone else or the next copy of the circuit may find it too noisy or oscillates...
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Hmm...a 1.1 and a 1.21?  I thought the 'one' was here:

Anyone have soundclips of these two variants?

Yes, to my knowledge, there is only one Dr. Boogey and that's the one designed by Electrictabs. The layout I designed is at the link the post above.
The 'other' is an actual Dual Rectifier preamp emulator, but only a few parts vary from the Dr. Boogey.
FWIW, I tried the other components and the Dr. Boogey sounds much better.
