After my first attempt at doing a vero layout for the Dr. Boogey, I found very difficult to draw a reasonably small layout, but perfboard seems to be much better for this. so....

Marty , Dragonfly and the usual vero contributors, please review and let me know if you find erros on it.

Let's see how many views do we get for this one :icon_wink:

I built the Dr. Boogey from Bucksears layout and PCB here: http://www.4thlevelmedia.com/DrBoogeyPartsLayout.gif and it works great...I thought the idea was to get this on vero... am I missing something?  I don't have time right now to comb through your work...is your reference schematic different than the electrictabs one? (http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=28854.0)

The layout:
I've made a few JFET emu layouts using Bane's DIY tool lately - one recommendation I would make is to create the board as a PCB.  Use traces and solder pads instead of jumpers so etchers can print the PnP and perfers can connect the dots.  You can always change the display if you want to show the X-Y coordinates.
Just my 2-cents.

Excellent!  What are the pot values?  Did I miss them?  Thanks again :D

Yeah the plan was on vero layout, but schematics like this work better in perf layout formats. On the other hand, I live in a small apartment and I can't use any etchants, so making my own PCB's is not doable for me, let alone the possibility of my small 3 yr old daughter messing with any kind of acid.

Pot values:

Gain 1MA
Master Vol 1MA
Treble 220KA
Mid 22KL
Bass 1MA
Presence 100KL

Thanks for the layout!
Shouldn't Gain 1(ground) go to L8 instead of K8?
Shouldn't Gain 2 go to K8 instead of I8?
Shouldn't K8 then connect to K9?

Thanks !!!

EDIT: I have updated the perf layout but damn photobucket won't let me upload the correct one.... I'll try later today or tomorrow

Also, i think c9 and c11 should come from the top pins of q2 and q3, not the middle pin?

Ezanker, thanks for pointing out my errors, all of them have been corrected.

Is it OK now?

Looks good to me now. Perhaps someone else can also go through it.

Dr. Boogey is definitely on my list and seeing as I mostly perf my circuits I will use your layout.  Thanks again for taking the time to provide it!

I'll let you know how it worked out after I build it; but that could be several weeks from now...

Ezanker, thanks again. I have just provided another one for the JCM800 emulator, look for the thread .
