I have an arion EQ which i bought very cheap off a mate. Having looked at a few mods for the ge-7 i thought they would probably work on this EQ, but i don't know how! I can't find any instructions for ge-7 mods so can't relate it to this EQ. Here's the EQ from the inside:

This is what it says on each IC:

1.TC4027BP (16 pin IC)
2.C3198 (with a big 'K' and '6E' above it, 3 pin)
3. Smaller than 2. and 4. but still a 3 pin, K772 along with 'F 5L' below it
4. Same as 2.
5.this is exactly what it says on it, i do believe it is the same as one of the ICs in the ge-7: 'NJM4558LD' then below that 'JRC 5069J' 8 pin
6. A6458S OL4 (i think this is a 9 pin, but not sure :s)
The last two are below the upper level, below is a better pic of them.
7. Same as 6.
8. A6458S OL3

Here are some other pics abit closer up:

I understand i can change all the electrolytic caps to metal film ones, but are there any other mods? like IC changes and adding components. I'm only really doing this for abit of fun and to gain some experience. Any help would be appreciated

#5 and #6 are dual opamps. Look up the inline version of the TL072.
#1 is switching.
#2, 3 and 4 are buffers IIRC.

You should be able to find a ton of info on the ge-7 with the search button here. Cross reference that to the schematics and you'll be able to tailor your eq. Honestly, aside from the IC changes I probably wouldn't mess with it much, as it will never be studio quiet.  :icon_biggrin:

thanks for the help! I've searched around abit and checked out some other ICs for the ge-7. It's a little confusing but i think i know what is what, any more help would be appreciated tho!  :icon_razz:

By the way, there is another tranny i missed. It's with the front three and is the same as 3, if that helps anybody.

Cheers
