Apparently the high-pitched squealing from my Casio DH-100 is a common *disorder*:

I'm wondering if anyone here has info about this common malfunction? I'd love to brush the dust off this old thing, and have some fun with it again. "Back in the day", I used it with a Sequential Circuits Prophet VS. Wish I still had that synth, but it became like like keeping an exotic animal as a pet. I couldn't afford the upkeep, and there were many eager buyers.

I believe there is a electrolytic cap that goes bad, it goes short,, open her up and start checkin those caps.

Not Sure if I had the "VS" but I had a Prophet, I used to move piano's and got talked into that instead of the money for pay...It was a Cool Keyboard too...did a Very Respectable "Jump' and many other tones, plus had the fun knobs to mess with.

Sorry, can't help you with the casio, but I love my WX5...   :icon_biggrin:

I would use my DMM, The check the electro's to see if they are short or open, I think they usually go open. You may have to take them out of circuit to get a accurate reading, or at least lift a leg.

Thanks for the replies. I was being lazy, and hadn't googled. I got it working again.
