How might i go about getting the EA tremolo i made to go faster? I find it rediciously too slow for my tastes, its got all the features i need. Volume boost, tremolo and also a super blue light more more badassary.

Thanks heaps.

I used this layout -> http://diyguitarist.com/PDF_Files/EA-TremoloPCB.pdf

try the "search" function...mods have been covered several times...involves changing caps....

I think Torchy has an EA Trem layout which includes a double speed switch. It's as simple as adding another 1M resistor paralell to the one in the oscillator RC network.

Without tracing the circuit, I see from the layout there are three 1uF caps.
One of those must be determining the frequency.
Try putting another 1uF (or 5uF or so) in parallel with each of them separately and see which one makes it go even slower.
Then yank out that 1uF and put somehting smaller in, & the freq will go up.

I think you'd need to change all of them to the same value so things don't get weird?

I think you could also make the 15k resistor smaller (only 2k or 3k) for a bit more speed
edit: change the 15k to 2k2 and make the 2M2 a 1M after messing around with the thing in the simulator (though I've just realised that also ends up with weird stuff at the slower speeds)

  I swapped 'em around to change the range of the  speed control and didn't notice any difference except on the speed control.

i recently finished my ea trem and mistakeingly put 3 - 0.1uf caps in the 1uf spot's and it was really fast. so fast that at full speed it was almost creating an octave like the green ringer.   hope this helps

I have found for my tastes, replacing the (3) 1uF caps with 0.33uF caps is the ticket.  If you happen to have .47uF caps or .22uF caps, they'll be an improvement, but the .22uF is a bit faster on the low end than what's useable as a trem unless the only thing you use your trem for is a jackhammer/vibrator effect.  Unfortunately you can't increase the overall range as the circuit won't start up.
