Hullo

So I've done my homework, read the posts and the linked articles, still I remain uncertain how to wire the speed pot to a stereo jack input so I can control the speed with an exp pedal. My main doubt stems from the fact that the speed pot is wired differently on GGG's layout than on ROG's layout (the one I want to build): On the GGG layout (http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/eatrem2_lo.gif), lug 1 of the speed pot goes to ground while lugs 2&3 go to a resistor. On the other hand, on the ROG layout (http://www.runoffgroove.com/eatrem-medperf.png), lug 3 alone goes to a resistor, while 1&2 go to ground.

So:
Do the two layout contradict themselves?

And is the following wiring correct? I'm a bit confused here!
thanks
Guillaume

Ahem, sorry ... can't anyone help me out on this? Is it too silly?

The 2 ways of wiring the pot are basically the same, in either case the pot is wired as a variable resister. I hope I've got this the right way round but the only difference is that the ggg pot works backwards so turning it all the way clockwise gives the slowest speed rather than the fastest. This might be because using a log pot wired backwards gives a better feel with a nice change in speed over the whole rotation of the pot as opposed to having all the useful speed change happening at the end of the pot.
It doesn't matter which way you wire the pot so try both and see which works best.
Your diagram for an expression pedal is wrong you want the ring connected to lug 1 or 2 of the pot and the tip connected to lug 3.
Hope that helps :)

thanks a lot Slacker, I was beginning to feel forlorn....
