I did a search today trying to determine whether the OS+++ was actually a worthwhile build.
From what info I can gather up here, it had some problems and issues that never quite worked out.
Has anyone made any progress with this circuit?
How about a functional layout by chance?
Thank you!!

I got Paul Nelson's (nelson) layout to work after a few tweaks - and I think it sounds great. I have a Fender Ross Compressor copy to compare it to and the OS+++'s attack and decay are not that noticeable on the OS+++ as compared the Fender compressor - but the OS+++ is not quite the same kind of sound as the Ross anyway... the OS variants are more 'natural' sounding IMO.

Here is Paul's layout with the tweaks that I made - use the last one listed - the last layout is verified by me:

The only issue I really had was that the layout was on the large side (3"x2") - but will fit into any standard 4 knob build.

It definitely works! I really like the one I built; I don't use a compressor all the time but the OS+++ is my compression of choice - the 'gain' control really comes in handy too.

I had always intended to get around to making some attack/decay mods on this too in order to make these features a bit more significant, perhaps now is the time to get back to that once I have perfected the Dr Boogie I have been working on.

Mojotron,
Thanks for the bit of info and the layout  :)
Much appreciated.

I've been wanting to get back to my OS and add those mods to give me more adjustment although I really love it as is too.  I didn't use the GE diode as others did but it works great for me.  I used 1n914 in mine and once I adjust the trim pot I works just fine.  I also built the DOD 280 optical comp and I use it when I'm playing with heavy fuzz or distortion but when I'm playing cleaner the OS is no doubt the one I choose.
