hey folks,

so im looking at the components listed and i'm ready to place my small bear order but i have a question.

what do the S F T V  values mean?

how does that correspond to smallbear's stock?

JonFrum

I think those are the pots. "Sensitivity" "Frequency" etc

Have a look at the link to Tim's schematic to correlate the pot labels to my shorthand - the Uglyface is about 2/3 down.  I think I used linear pots throughout (will look like '100kB' in Steve's stock list).

Good luck!!

You might like 10k output pot, that'll tame the output, that's 10k from signal path to ground. Whatever does it..
I dont' think even series resistance would hurt the treble response in a bad way.
but another way is a volume divider before the volume pot, resistors in series, 220k?...[equal values will 1/2 the signal voltage] signal input at top, output at middle, ground the bottom...would be the same as another volume pot, turned down to 1/2 and fixed there. Adjust values as you see fit, it's the same as 'another' volume control but with fixed values.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

had nothing to do today so  here it is a small clip of my UGLYFACE, mounted in a steinless steel IKEA salad bowl.

I liked this circuit. I'm begining to LOVE it!

hi, what does it mean optoiso for the r2? and where i have to sold VTL5C3?

thk.

Mick Bailey

I used a 220k resistor between the .1uf cap and volume pot - this gives unity gain at the halfway mark.

hi everyone

this comes almost 3 years after the last reply but...
about the insanely loud output, could lowering the 555 voltage to 5Vdc help lowering the maximum output volume, and that  without affecting frequency response or output impedance?
"If it's too loud, you're not too old, it's Alancka Effectors."
