I built a fuzz for a friend and when he got it home and plugged it in, he started getting what sounded like radio transmitions from overseas coming through his amp. Any theories as to what might be causing this? It's not really a problem (he thinks it's cool) but it would be interesting to hear some ideas about what is happening here. He recorded a some of the transmitions and emailed it to me. You can listen to it here http://members.dodo.com.au/cowinfamily/files/radio.mp3

#2
  10k before the input
Small cap to ground at input
Ferrite Beads...let me know if you figure out which type/how it goes..
  Grounded shielded box
Grounded at one end / [longer] Shielded signal wire/s inside the box.
3  *10k will slightly reduce input gain
2  **Small Cap will roll off a touch of highs [maybe not even noticable/adjust value]
5  I never tried a Ferrite Bead
1  Shielded box...
4  Shielded wires for signal input/output
Sorry about the order, I'd start with a shielded box, then the small cap [cause it's easy, probably works and has little drawbacks] or the 10k for same reasons, then shielded wires cause they're sort of a hassle.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

my mate had that problem with his fuzz face... turned out to be a crappily shielded patch lead
