can i use MPF102's instead of J201's in my BSIAB II

Can these be substituted? if so what might be the difference in sound?

A LOT less gain !! :D  ( not recommended )

I used them and the gain wasn't much different than all 2N5457's but the noise was reduced considerably.  J201 will have more gain though.
builds completed: boutique fuzz, rangemaster, BSIAB2, PT-80, Tonepad wah, Ross Comp, Axis Fuzz, MOSFET boost, Thunderchief, Big Muff (triangle), Mr. EQ, Dr. Boogey,  Neovibe, Dist+, EA Tremelo, ADA Flanger, RM Octavia

Yes , as substitutes for the 5457's no problem :D
