Worked almost right from the start...had a small wiring bug, that ground connection on the vol pot to the output jack.Once I did that ,it worked.
Sounds great, what can I say,it's a Univibe.........on mine I'd like to bring the dim orange glow on the bulb (depth zero)lower, still shines a little too bright.....I think if I do that I'll get a better vibe.
The lamp driver transistor gets hot, worked with a 3904 and also with a 2N2222A can-type which I left in place for now.
I have a TIP102 that I bought today but I have to desolder the socket to install it.

So the help I need now is how do I bring the glow down, the 200R trim is at zero already.....
Thanks everybody..........

Congratulations!

Turn it the other way. The bigger the resistance, the lower the static current. If 200 ohms isn't enough, whip in a 500 ohm. Or put a 100-180 ohm fixed resistor in series with the trimpot.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Thanks RG,I'll do that right now.

Ok..........put a 1k trim in place of the 200R........now I can get to the lowest glow possible without the bulb being off......much better control over the vibe action.
It is esential to get the bulb brightness under control,so take note of that if you are building one.
The woble on this thing is amazing, the EasyVibe does not come even close and I like the EV............
I recommend using shielded wire for the jacks and route the power supply (more so if you are using AC like me)input away from the other leads and twist the wires.
Thanks RG and all.Great stuff.
I also put new P/ups on my Epi LP today,a Gibby from a 335 on the neck and an amazingly hot HB (16K) from who knows where on the bridge ,the thing growls.
Now I can rest for a couple of days...hehehehehe.
By the way...it may be good info for somebody....... I used MPSA18 for the input section(x3),all 3904 for the rest and a metal can 2222A for the driver.
I have to yet try the TIP102 I bought today.

One question,I'd like a little more control over the speed,my dual pot works fine but it's a 100K dual log not a reverse, guess I'll have to order one from Small Bear or can I wire it backwards?.
Thanks
