Low Voltage Op Amps

I've been using a TI TL?2262 which seems to work down to around 5v.  When I have to change batteries back to 10v, I have to adjust some part values because it becomes too "BRASH" for me.  The sort of earthy tubishness of the distortion circuits associated with it become to "in your Face"

I guess this may be more of a problem with this type of op amp than one that I have to replace the battery more often with.  Anyone else have these issues?

Of course there are several solutions, but some circuits sound better a 7v than 10v.  :icon_cool:

I'm not sure if you're asking for a solution or just comparing notes, but you can put in a zener or regulator to keep the voltage down around the level where you like the sound coming out.   ;)

Indeed. a 78L05 regulator could keep the op-amp's voltage at 5v, like you said you wanted, even with a 10v battery in there.

Thanks for the info.  I guess I was mentioning it as part of the "sounds great one day and not another" phenomenon.  It may be more of an issue with some op amps than other? :icon_question:
