Question about Fuzz Central's Liquid Drive

I'm getting ready to put together the Liquid Drive. I have all the parts except for the pots. I only need two pots. One is a bit hard to find a 500K reverse audio taper. Mr. Bryant has this to say about it. "The "Drive" pot in this circuit really needs to be a REVERSE AUDIO TAPER for the best control "feel" and distortion range. Using a standard linear taper pot will bunch all the distortion up at the end of the pot's rotation, severely limiting the ease of adjustment. 500KC (reverse audio taper) 16mm pots can be purchased from Small Bear Electronics."

I don't want to have to order one or two pots. I have everything else I need. I have a 1MOhm linear pot. I'm hoping that I could put a 500k or maybe a 250K resistor between lugs one and two and have approximately the same effect as the a 500K reverse audio taper. Am I close or at least in the ballpark?
Thank you.

Check the threads over the last few days for one on Distortion+ pots.  The Liquid Drive is just a variation on that circuit, so everything said about the drive pot there also applies for the liquid drive.

Thanks for directing me to that thread. http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=49357.0 It has everything in it I need to know. I just need to suck it up and get some Reverse Audio pots from Small Bear and do it right.

Thank you.

A simple solution is to wire a normal log pot back to front - you'll get the right feel, just backwards. That's what I did on my liquid drive, until I get around to picking up some reverse log pots. It really is a nice pedal, by the way...
