Am I the only one who is amazed that PCB works at all??? Looks like one giant shortcut to me

I thought the same thing at first, too! On closer inspection there dont seem to be any shorts. This is truly awesome looking work. I would venture to guess you would have to solder/troubleshoot VERY carefully. Serious props darron!

Couldn't the board actually have strange capacitance effects?

theoretically... you are the first person to bring that up. there aren't many traces that actually run close together since the squigles don't connect. so the capacitance would have to go from squigle to squigle. would it really make a difference? probably not the best idea.. but i thought i'd try it.

Definitely a blue ribbon for you on this one. I like the way it looks. If it were me it would scare the bejesus out of me though. I've had so many problems with even little hair size strands of copper that I go out of my way to make large traces that are as far apart from eachother as I can get them.
