I wanted to try an AMZ Mosfet Booster build but all I have at the moment are two BS250s. Can these be used insted of the BS170 if I flipped the power and the elect. caps? Or should I just try one section of the Obsidian?

Hi ubersam, I would say either one would work fine.
You would have to flip the zener diode as well with the AMZ mosfet booster.

Very cool. Thanks guys. Just some questions about the zener diode, I seem to remember reading that if the Mosfet used has an internal diode protection, the external zener diode could be omitted. Is this correct? The datasheet for the BS250 shows a diode from the drain to the source, would this be the protection diode? Lastly, in the absence of a zener diode, could a regular silicon like a 4n400x take its place?

Thanks again.

I think all the typically used Mosfets 2N7000/BS170/BS250's have the internal diode.  Some designs use an common LED for the diode to protect against static discharge frying the Mosfet.   :icon_cool:
