Different Clyde Mccoy Question...HELP!

Besides the "Q resistors" that are variable in old Clyde Mccoy wahs, what other values/types of material were often different?

im looking to nail a certain wah tone, and im trying to figure out what other variables might be involved here, to then figure out which gets me closer to home.

any and all help is appreciated. thank you!

R in parallel to the L was higher in the Clydes. 100k instead of 33k.

R from L to ground in the Clydes was higher. 100k instead of 82k.

C from L to ground in the Clydes was 4uF vs 4.7uF in the 846/847's.

That's what my schematics seem to point towards. But I have,
and I'm sure you have too, seen all the values vary. Particularly
in older pedals. The inductor is, I would guess, probably the most
variable. Even with what should be the same number of windings, they
seem to vary maybe 100mh.

Mr Keen's and fuzzcentral are two. Every schem I've seen is
virtually the same.

I think that there were some differences in the types of inductors used. Also, I think there may have been some differences in the cap types, I believe.

of course. :-D im trying to build a replica wah, going off of "sound" from albums VS. schematics...and im just trying to rule out variables.

Curious...I thought your buddy Orion made the best Clyde McCoy replica wah pedal around, that you have tried to promote on this forum in the past. What's the matter not satisfied with it???

haha, its a specific clyde mccoy sound im going after. he does a "general" clyde mccoy. and plus, when have i ever been satisfied? haha

Quit trying to squeeze water out of a rock, just build a Maestro Boomerang clone already! Seriously, I think you might really like it - it's fat and it's got THE tone.

haha! i had one, and loved it. but im not sure what i did with it...although i did find the big shell the other day. 

do you think i can build one out of a 847 type board?

im specializing in drop ins...and i think that would be a must have!

Does anyone know if the colorsound wah is based on one of these pedals (vox or boomerang) or is it its own beast.

Colorsound had two types of wah pedals - one with an inductor and one with a twin-T inductorless circuit. The one with an inductor isn't too much different than the old CryBaby circuit.

The Boomerang is pretty much an uncopied circuit, and is one of the few inductor based wahs that isn't simply more or less a copy of the CryBaby circuit.
