Crybaby auto switch

One last try...  I need to know if anyone has figured out the switching circuit in the Crybaby models like the 105q and 95q which have the auto switch instead of a stompswitch.  Has anyone isolated that section of the circuit or does anyone know how it works?  I'd like to put a different circuit in a pedal with that switch, but I cannot find either a layout or schematic for either of these pedals.  I also have been unable to find a schematic for the DB-01 (Dime Wah) and 535Q, as the links to that german forum do not turn up the documents and a search of that forum has been fruitless as well.

PLEASE!! I'm desperate!

i made my own version of an automatic switch.
check this picture: http://sic.fotopic.net/p28598529.html

the rocker has a pot shaft glued to it. then i screwed a fuse holder on the other part of the body. the screw is grounded en so is the spring around it in the middle of the fuse holder. one side of the fuse holder is wired to a relay. when you move the rocker out of the fuse holder the connection breaks and the relay switches.

Couldn't you also use a momentary switch and an FET flip-flop circuit?

CMOS bypass via CD4053 triggered by a magnet and either a hall effect device or a reed switch.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Does anyone have a 95Q?  If so would you please post pics of the circuit board so I can try to sort this thing out since no one has a schematic?  A good pic of the top and bottom of the board should be all I need to do this myself, but I can't find one anywhere to take a look at!

This would obviously be more work, but couldn't you put a photodetector in the pedal someplace so it just saw that your foot was on the treadle? ...or more correctly, so it saw there was no light when your foot was on the pedal?

Ok. I now have the board out of a 105Q bass wah, but I don't know what is what in this circuit!  I will post pics in a little bit, but in the mean time, here's the question:

There is a DPST switch under the heel of the pedal.  Connected to that are 2 resistors, 1 diode, and 1 cap.  The diode is then connected to the third pin on one side of a device labeled 'HEF4049BT C7989ME', while one of the resistors goes to a 220uf electrolytic.  Is that device the clock?  I'll post pics later.

Gladmarr

the HEF4049BT is a Hex inverting buffer http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=HEF4049BT

If there's a switch in the pedal, how is is "autoswitching?"  That sounds like a cheat to me...  :icon_surprised:

It is called 'autoswitch' because there is no stomp switch at the toe.  All you do is lift your foot off the pedal and when the heel goes all the way down, it turns off.  There is a slight delay so you can rock your foot all the way back without it turning off, but because it works like this, you don't have to click a stomp switch up front.  I'm not wild about it, but if I can isolate the switching part of the circuit, I'd like to modify my own circuit's layout so I can add the appropriate parts and use that chassis.  Clyde McCoy with an autoswitch?  Way cool!

what if we use a momentary switch conected to some flip-flop circuit (like Tonegod's) using a 4049 connected to a 4016, 4053 or a relay.
it could work, but we will need the 'delay' device.
any thoughts?
