Yes but used 9v batteries with about 8v left in each. They don't last very long though. Better would be a 9v and a 6v for longer life. There are 2 threads going at the moment, can they not be combined? Do listen to Hall of the Mountain King by Nero & the Gladiators - linked on the lounge.

Why is there a difference between the factory schematic (using SAD1024) and the Giles' schematic around the BBD?

Because, my friend, my drawing is Mike Irwin's adaptation of the MN3010 version for an SAD 1024, so the old 1024 versions should be ignored!  ??? ??? ???

Confusing isn't it??

And to confuse matters even more, there is an adaptation of the Bill Bergman layout (Rev.3 MN3010) to accept the SAD1024 , made by Mike I. In this one, only the BBD and clock part is changed and follows the original rev3 schematics in all other aspects (as far as I can see...), including noise gate etc, and so does not correspond to Stephen Giles/Mike I slimlined schematics.  :icon_wink:
This layout is the one I'm currently trying to brush up graphically. Many close and narrow traces haven't survived format conversions on their way to my hard drive.
Best!

:P Yeah, that would make it a bit easier to follow... Sounds like a few folks are way ahead of me. Several different individuals seem to be working individually on their own layouts. But, I don't know if anyone else is working (or planning to to work on) a layout in a format that can be sent to a commercial fabrication house. Based on the tight spacing of some of those traces, I still think that would be a great way to go.

I think I'll jump over here where the technical discussion seems to have progressed the furthest, so far...
