Guvnor and Jackhammer: Distortion with LEDs and diodes pulled

Does anyone know why and where in the circuit that takes places.
I eventually would like not just to change the diode clipping but also that "general" clipping.
Do the opamps distort each other??

Go do the math and find out how much gain the opamp is set for, it easily goes way over the headroom provided by the 9v power supply. The MXR Distortion+ and ProCo Rat have also got this same quality.
Try using different type of opamps too.
