Hey There,
I just built the LPB-1 (Dragonfly vero layout), It sounds great and has a lot of boost. The volume pot works backwards though!! I've been over it with a fine tooth comb and still cannot work out my mistake. I tried installing another pot of the same value and had the same symptoms.
At this point the only thing i can think of is that the transistor may be installed incorrectly (2n5089). Would this mistake provide the symptoms I describe???

Thanks,
Milt.

I have the same exact probelm.
i built a LPB1 and the pot work backwards.
anyone know what's the problem?

Thanks!!!
Now I don't feel like such a bonehead!

Did you use the dragonfly layout?

I believe that the pot is wired backwards. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Reverse the outside wires on the pot and it should work.

I already did,doesn't work

I also tried reversing the wires on the pot.

Try reversing lugs 3 and 2 instead of 3 and 1.

I also tried reversing lugs 2 and 3. I'm kinda stumped at this point.

Lug 3 gets circuit output [this is the 'input of the volume pot]
  Lug 1 goes to ground.
Lug two is the volume pot output and goes to switch/output jack.
The two outside lugs should at least have circuit output and ground, if the VC knob works backwards, reverse the outside lug connections.
I go by bias voltage, but if the thing is boosting alot, the board and transistor are probably wired correctly.

Thanks!!!
It worked.
Dragonflys vero layout has lug 3 going to ground and lug 1 as the circuit output.
Thanks a bunch.

I still wire my pots backwards half the time.  If it's a linear pot I'll just leave it. It messes people up when they play on your gear.  I also use audio pots wired backwards for gain on My D+ and a few othe drive pedals.  It is a matter of convinience as I don't need to order anythng from smallbear right now so I don't want to pay shipping on just a couple revers log pots.

I just turn the dial "Up" toward the input lug.
Say lugs on bottom shaft pointing at you, turn the knob to 5:00 Fully CWise, the lug the knob would point at..that is the 'input' of the pot and is fed the circuit output.

glad youve got it working....

i added the words "top view of pot" to the layout, so people dont get confused in the future.....
