LA-Light for an insert effect ???

All,

    I'm brand new here so this may be a pretty stupid question, but - would it be possible to turn the schematic for the la-light into an insert effect ? What I'm trying to do is build a comp or 2 for vocals and snare that can be plugged into my soundboard. I think that taking a couple of the ideas from moosapotamus' fat n' pretty along with the component values from the original schematic and I could get something pretty usable. Anyone have any thoughts on this ? I've built a guitar amp and a couple of pedals before, but doing something that isn't guitar specific is new to me, and I'm not sure how the levels coming out of the board will compare with guitar signal level, etc.....

Any advice would be much appreciated, or if you know of a project that will work out better for me I'd look @ that too.
