I'm in the process of rebuilding a Cry Baby I just got. I am building the board from GGG and am installing true bypass with a LED. Where have you guys mounted the LED? I thought about mounting it on the pedal instead of the base, but didn't want to start drilling holes and not be happy with the results.

on the inside of the base, up above the pot, there are 2 circular indentations.

drill one of those out.

I have a Fulltone wah with an LED on the right side of the base of the body - about the same height as the jacks, and about as far forward as the arch of my foot when I'm standing on the pedal.  I find it's perfect for me, although I usually use my left foot for the wah pedal - if you usually use your right foot, you might want the LED on the other side.

My univibe that I put in a Crybaby enclosure, I put the light in the little bit of the base that extends past the toe of the pedal.  You can't always see the LED itself, but I used one of those ultra-bright blue ones - it casts enough of a glow under normal stage conditions that you can tell if it's on.  (Actually, when it's fairly dark down by the pedals, the amount of blue light leaking out of the front of the pedal varies with rocker position in kind of a cool fashion - I'm almost contemplating putting some reflective foil on the underside of the rocker portion to see if I can't make this effect a little more noticable.

i've thought about this one. you should definitely think about which foot you use. if you play right handed guitar you might feel more comfortable with using your left while standing because your right leg sorta leans against the guitar.

my wah (vox v847) is switched in true bypass to also power the unit, so it doesn't waste power when the effect is bypassed. this doesn't add any popping noises or anything! but i don't have an led... if you are going to use this method i'd give this a read, and put it into application: http://www.muzique.com/lab/led.htm

Thanks guys! I mounted my LED just a bit above and outside of the indention on the inside. Looks and works great.

Just did mine yesterday.  I centered it in front of the treadle.
