OK, lets take the old tubescreamer to new millennium!!! ;)

I have DIY Fooldrive-2 based pedal that I´m modding to be ultimate tubescreamer.
FD2-type board is good starting point , cause:
- it has the "Boost" function, (it's really usefull in this pedal, It´s basically 2 sounds in 1 pedal)
- it has "Flat mids" circuit. (not big difference to normal TS9-sound, so in my TS2000 the FM-switch also doubles the input-cap, so its now FAT-switch)

I have separate switch for diode lift and FM-mode.
The pedal also has separate on/off/on switches for both diodes.
to one side the options (at the moment) are 1N914 / 2xGediodes / both on. To other direction 1N914 / 4001 / both on.
But I'm planning to put some LEDs there also.
I had an Idea when playing with OP amp distortion in diodelift mode. What if there would be enough diodes/LEDs to make the OP amp distort also? The idea is to have 2 stage clipping... WHAT YOU THINK? Would it sound good?

It would also be great to have (Xotic-style) separate bass and treble controls.
I found this from another thread:

Has anyone experiences of this kind of tonestack with ts9-type circuit?

I think I can take the Boost knob of and just put 1M  resistor in there. Its always maxed anyway. This way I have space for Bass/Treble pots.

What you guys think, does this make any sense...?
