Voxac30 vs english channel

Hi everybody
I was wondering has anybody built the Vox ac30 simulator (the one from stephen moeller)
I just wanted to ask before building it because it is complex and also expensive, I want to get a sound close to the Edge (U2) and as far as I know he uses the bright channel of the vox.
The other option is the english channel, but its not said to be as a close as other one.
