to a question about a GGG pcb rangemaster setup I'm building. It's a PNP positive ground. I'll not have a dc jack or LED, just a true bypass DPDT arrangement. I can't reconcile the wiring diagrams over there as the "Standard true bypass" and "simple battery connections" diagrams appear to be for negative grd devices. On the PNP positive grd wiring diagram for the rangemaster, which is shown with an LED and dc jack, the + snap goes to input sleeve and the ring to grd, but on the "Standard true bypass diagram" the negative  battery snap oges go the input jack sleeve and ring to grd. Now, assuming that I just reverse the + and - from the bypass diagram for my pos. grd device, I still don't know where the "+ 9v" solder location is. Please help?

+9V to ground.

If +9v goes to grd, and then -9v goes to input ring, I get no sound.

This is how it should look.
Eliminate the jack as it would be "dangerous" to the circuit to even have it there IMO.
This circuit will not eat batteries so, a 9V will last ya awhile.
Reality is, you'll be wiring it exactly opposite as a regular NEG ground just opposite  :icon_biggrin:
Forget about red being positive. In this instance RED is NEGATIVE (ground) EARTH or whatever you would like to call it!  :icon_lol:

Hey thanks for the diagram. I'll get right on it.

I hope it helps you.  :)

That's what I needed. It's working! Thanks a ton. Now I'm trying a bunch of different old transistors from the 50s, 60's and a few from the 70s that were kicking around in an old bunch of basement drawers I found. Can I send you one for helping out?

I'll list 'em and you can pick: GE 2n494; Raytheon 5701-90 6143; Raytheon 6139;  RCA 2N578; RCA 2N581; Matsushita 2SB175 or Matsushita 2SB324.

I'd LOVE one but,
I'll have to decline.  :icon_neutral:
I have been helped sooooo many times by the kind folks here that I can't begin to remember them all,
either that or I'm older than I care to remember  :icon_lol:
Glad it's working and enjoy!
Y'all come back now.....y'hear!

Fair enough. Thanks again. I really appreciate it. Now if I could just crank it up, but it's too late here...
