BOSS OC-3 Super Octave

Are these pedals pretty good? Ive seen a lot of you guys with all your homemade pedals, but this one seems to be among a lot of your rigs. Is it worth it? I can pick one up for about $140 NZ dollars or around $80 US, is that a pretty good deal?

I like the OC-3 , it tracks very well and has inputs optimized for bass-or-guitar.
I'm not a fan of the "drive" setting though !
Getting  DIY version that tracks as well as this etc ... would be hard
