So where do I get a  CLM8200/2 ? for the polyphase. I would gladly buy some if they weren't extinct. I have read a thread suggesting a Vactrol VTL5C/3 as a substitute. A general consensus was that the circuit  probably should be modified to acommodate this, but no modifications were suggested by members.
If I do use a Vactrol VTL5C/3 , what modifications would I have to do?

Better yet- Someone sell me some CLM8200/2'S!!
Thanks all

FWIW, I'm using VTL5C3/2's in mine with no modification to the circuit.

If the Polyphase phase-shift stages responded directly to envelope signal, then you might need to be picky or pickier about optos.  Happily, it is the Polyphase LFO that responds to the envelope, and there speed of response is less critical.  Just about everythng we are accustomed to working with here is fine in that respect.

All the optos we have ready access to are not particularly differentiated in terms of the LEDs they contain, so you're okay there.  The question of concern is whether the resistance values of the LDRs inside are appropriate.  Ideally, what you look for is a wide range of resistance values.  If the maximum resistance is too high, you can always use parallel fixed resistors to drop the range, but if the LDR never goes higher than, say, 250k you can't do much to productively increase maximum resistance (you can use a series resistor but that simply shifts the range not expand it).
