if i want to put a tremolo pedal in a wah casing and have the rocker control trem speed, will one of the wah pots smallbear carries work?  steve carries a 100k wah pot, but apparently wah pots have a unique sweep; my reservation is that it would give good control over the middle speeds but no control over the slower and faster speeds.

Between the rack/pinion gear adjustments and using tapering resistors/stop resistors...I guess...you'd be able to get the tremolo speed controlled to your liking using a wah Case/Wah pot.
If all else fails a 'two stage fine tune' switch could be used to select between two smaller speed ranges/finer speed adjustments.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Try changing the pot... There are Bourns (made of Cermet)  pots that fits perfectlly in the wah, they are linear tapper.

Depending on what parts or tools you have available you could replace the pot. The pots used in most wah circuits have 6.25mm (1/4") D-shape shafts. If you can only get round shaft you can file or grind down part of the shaft flat so it can take the gear.

Just a some thoughts.

You could get a Roger Mayer wah pot, as they are linear taper too.
