9 volts

Hey there. I built this a while ago with 1n4148 diodes. I'm wondering if anyone has compared the sound with 1n456 (original) diodes. I've looked at the datasheets and to my basic knowledge they similar.
In a nutshell, is it worth shelling out for some 1n456 diodes?
I've notice that when mine is flat out it compresses a Little. Is this related to the diodes?
thanks in advance

Hey there again....I've just done some research and so far verdict seems to imply that the diodes don't really influence the sound. Anyone with a differing opinion?

That was my experience.  Of course, it's always been my opinion with the Scrambler that if you can tell the difference between part subs in there, you aren't using the darn thing right!  (I'm a huge fan of the over-the-top nastiness, although I find running it through a hot tube amp helps to smooth out it's most "insane" tones into something more manageable)

Nasty is good!!! I was wondering if the 1n456 may have made it more nasty!!! (I'd hate to think I was missing out on the icing on the cake). Even though they're pretty cheap to buy my postage starts to add up. (There ain't any available in Australia) Thanks for the feedback.
