I'm looking for more depth from my EA Tremolo, basically a complete on-off type effect. Also, I might want to increase the amount of speed that can be achieved, which I'm assuming can be done by decreasing the 1uF caps. Anybody know how to get the on-off type effect I'm looking for?

Just for the record, if anyone decides to help, I built the GGG Improved EA Trem, not the Runoffgroove one. I guess the best way to describe what I'm looking for is a choppy on-off type effect, not a smooth sounding vintage trem. If the EA trem isn't capable of this, could someone recommend a good trem pedal for what I described?

No too long ago Dragonfly posted some Mods along with some soundclips of his EA which had some type of deep mods done to it.
It was in one of the Tremulus Lune posts probably a few pages in or perhaps send him a PM.

Transmogrifox  mods sound like the ticket, more of a real design change rather than squeezing a little more out of the existing circuit.  Intersting stuff...

I built mine with the indicator led as recent layouts show, and it suffers the same "smoothing" disease, mainly at fast rates.
Now, if you try to short the LED (or remove it, leaving just the res) it will turn into a more defined tremolo, still not on-off as you (and I) wish, but good enoug. I thought about adding a switch to short the led and make a sort of indicator-smooth/no-indicator-chopper mode...
good luck
Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.
