Alright, I'll give it a shot.

Btw, I got my mom to drop by the hardware store today and she got me some paint stripper, and some more sandpaper in case it didn't work.  The paint stripper seems to be working great.  It's softening up the finish alot.

Thanks for the advice!

I kept the default resolution as I thought that changing it would mess up the sizing...
If I make it higher won't the sizing change when I print it?

The sizing won't change. The file size will if the traces are a bitmap or there are other bitmaps on the page.

Most likely the traces are "vector art", or by another name, data about how to display/print the art on the page.
The art being black lines and pads.

Try rasterizing at 300dpi when you open a pdf first.  200 and 150dpi can also be good choices.

If the pdf you are opening was done with vector software, then opening it in Illustrator would allow you to directly edit the traces (no rasterize).
This is why Fp password protects the Tonepad pdfs.

I asked my Mom to pick up some orange drop caps and 2A breakers and she told me I shouldn't eat so much hard candy!  :icon_surprised:

Select around the board area that you want in the pdf. Then zoom in to about 400% before you copy, then paste into whatever you are using to edit it.

Some PCB layout programs can import a PDF as a background layer, as a guide to re-draw over it.

What programs can you do this with and how do you do it?
