I work with InDesign. Not what I would have chosen for layout but...

Fill me in on your doc.

The traces are:
A. an imported bitmap brought in usung the "place" command.
B. vector art made with the InDesign drawing tools.
C. vector art imported from Illustrator or Acrobat.
D. vector art that has bee rasterized when it was imported.

Why do the layouts need converting?

There is no "invert" command like in Photoshop and thats for bitmaps anyway.
Need to know if you are vector or bitmap art.

If it is vector art in InDesign, you'll have to select the traces and change the STROKE/FILL color.

Yes yes using PnP I don´t need to invert the pic, I found out, I´m a newbie to PnP  :D

You mension that you would not chose Indesign for layout, Any suggestions on what to use instead?

I only use the program to print in.

It depends on what you want to do. I'm unclear if you are asking about making new layouts, like your own,
or about printing project files from websites.

If you want to make layout, the DIY Layout Creator sticky at the top of the board is all us hobbie DIYers' need.
Its an amazing resource and we are fortunite Bancika created it AND shared it.
He could have easily made it shareware for $50 and it would still be a bargain at that.
