Ideas for my second build?

I've just finished by first pedal, Tweako from SmallBear. I really enjoyed putting it all together and thrill of it working at the end so I want to start building more pedals. I think it might be a good idea for me to order a pack of mixed resistors and caps, some pots, jack sockets and a breadboard so I can test out designs before I make them.
Anyway, what are good pedals for a second build? I rather build a sustain pedal if there are any easy schematics, I could only find really complex ones.
Thanks

Although its not a sustainer, try an MXR Distortion+, nice and easy and nice sound too

How about a compressor of some sort? It is not a sustainer either but it could help with the sustain.

I would just like to say that if you are willing to really continue building pedals, a breadboard is a GREAT idea. Along with that, get some assorted resistors and caps, and get some common transistors and ICs. With a few pots and jacks, you can build almost anything without committing to soldering anything. I don't know about compressors, but most distortion effects you can just breadboard and try out to decide what you want.

There are tons and tons of boosters that are very easy to build and will actually enhance your tone quite a bit.  ou get a lot out of them, compared to what goes in them.

I recently built a Cream Pie Version 1 which is a fabulous little grindy midrange booster and finally debugged my Rangemaster & it's now perfectly tuned and sounds awesome.  The Rangemaster build was a real learning experience because you have to learn how to bias your specific transistor.  Print out the article at GEOFEX, it's fantastic.

I have to hand it to Steve at Small Bear for offering the TweakO kit and his EXCELLENT tutorial.  Without him, I would have never attempted stompbox building.

so simple compressor. just listen to it. and only transistors... it's a price winner.

most project types are there with dificulty level and nice tips... hell, if a projects interests you but you're not shure if it's too difficult, you can order the PCB board...  :icon_wink:

ditto that

As a beginner who's only had about 6 months experience, I would suggest building something a little more complicated for a 2nd build.

I started with wah modding, and my first actual build was an Octavia (works great), after that I made a silicon fuzz (had some faulty pots, but switched them and it works great now). I'm so freakin' hooked... I have 3 more projects that'll hopefully be finished before the end of the month. Just jump right in man, try something harder, test your limits.

ive only built a couple pedals, but after i did the rebote, im only doing complicated builds, besides my wahs.

after a while of just reading and soaking it all in, you have an understanding before you even wire anything up...

so, i suggest you build a rebote delay... ;D
