ive been hunting around for a pedal that has 2 seperate effects send and return, ive seen some layouts for some but they do not look like they would be right. Any way what i want to achieve is to have a clean, true tone going through, with the option to use either one set of effects on either loop, both at the same time or off completely. I have seen some designs that would do this but they have 3PDT, these are hard to come by in my area and are very expensive. Is there any designs that use DPDT foot switchs?

Meanderthal

I'm not quite sure what you have in mind exactly, but a simple true bypass loop box is real easy with a DPDT, and I guess 2 in one enclosure would be just fine. What you won't get is the led indicator capability of 3PDT.
I am not responsible for your imagination.

as Meanderthal put well. let me know if you would like me to draw up a schematic for you using dpdt's if you can't work it out.

This may be what you want:

Eliminate the middle LED column and you have a DPDT true bypass with A, B, or A and B in series.  You just loose the LED indicators.

i was hoping for the led indicator, would it be possible to just piggy back the led across the poles

nope. with a dpdt that's all you can do. the poles are already being used for audio and you can't just start mixing the power for the led in there with it. if you have your heart set on led's then just order some 3pdt switches over the internet if no stores around you have them (and i assume they don't).

aron sells them in the store http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?board=15.0, or small bear electronics smallbearelec.com sells them.

well an ebay store sells 3x 3PDT foot switchs for $40AUD. that is way to espensive, is there the possibility to use a millenium bypass to include the status led??

By the way heres a picture of what i wanted (sorry bad drawing)

There is really no reason at all to use 2PDT footswitches instead of 3PDT. Lots of webstores sell 3PDT for prices that are insignificantly higher than 2PDT switches. Aron, Smallbear, www.musikding.de, etc have them.

i think this is what you want:

as others said, you'll save yourself a lot of grief if you just get some 3pdts.  good luck!

that is what i was searching for, but i think i will try building a simple version using 2 DPDT's without the LED indicator. Are there any plans for this arrangement?

choklitlove

it will work the exact same as the one i posted.  vertically, just ignore the 3 lugs in the the middle, which is the middle pole, on both switches.  if you search for some switch diagrams of some sort, with the poles, directions, connections and all that labeled, you will be able to understand switches much better and you could even probably work a box like this out for yourself.  switches are really simple once you get the hang of them.   good luck!

here's something from the wiki that will help:

Is it possible to use a millenium bypass with a dpdt in a loop box to get an LED indicator?
