Are any of you guys interested in a layout for the Ibanez Fat Cat distortion pedal ?  I'm bored, so I'm thinking about making  PCB and perfboard layouts for it.

BTW...I just added a few more layouts to my gallery folder.

fat cat layout would be great !
we could the house both the rat and the fat cat circuit in one bigger hammond box then and call the pedal "itchy and scratchy"  ;)

cheers,

Yeah, do it! I have had a guy ask me if I could build him one but haven't been able to do so yet

Dragonfly

I've got it finished...just need to check it for accuracy...i'll post it in the next day or two.

Isn't the Fat Cat a clone of the Rat? Could you build one on  a Rat board?

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. For what I know the fat cat is a rat clone.....

Barcode80

put a modded rat in with the unmodded rat clone, tom and jerry.

Other than the Tb vs FET switching.. yessir. and therefore... yes you can.
More stuff, less fear, less  hassle and less censoring? How 'bout it??. To discuss what YOU want to discuss instead of what others decide for you. It's possible...

But not at diystompboxes.com...... regrettably

The Fat Cat was the first distortion pedal I bought. I cant wait for a PCB... I would love to relive my early days!

Thanks,

Should be correct...let me know if you find any problems. I removed the buffer sections in the assumption that "most" people will be building using a 3PDT switch and true bypass. This is just the "basic" circuit.

Looks great! what other choices are there other than the ne5534?

audioguy

Awesome! I'm building it tonight... I remember with the FC and an EQ I was able to get some pretty decent S.O.D. era Megadeth tones.

Thanks!

Like I mentioned, its untested, but looks to be correct...let me know if you find any problems. If everything works great, give us a "build report" !  :)

IIRC, just about any other single op amp.

Cant really see/read the positioning of the electro caps on the layout.
