Good day,

First, please excuse my English. It is not my first language, and I must work at it. Please pardon any small errors or misunderstandings.

I am in the electronics industry, but not in audio. I have been reading the schematics in this web site, and I will start making my own pcbs to help me learn design audio. I have found other posts in your forum, like http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=46973.0 and http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=17221.0. I have read these and the links from them. But "pcb design" returns so many links.

I have been trying to message Mr RG Keen about the information he has on his web site concerning PCB design so I may get one. He knows so much. But I do not get an answer. He must be away.

Do you know any other referrals I should be reading to make good PCBs? My work designs are industrial, I do not want to overengineer my stompbox circuits.

Thank you.

Hello, are you looking for more information on how to take an existing electronic design and place it on a printed circuit board, or how to design the circuit itself?

wondergibbon

I am looking for I think you would call it the best practice in stomp box pcb design.

Yes, there is lots of software to we all use, but I know from my work there are many ways to design a circuit for the board. Some designs create problems, some do not. Mr Keen has a paper advertised on his web site about, http://www.geofex.com/bookpages/bookblurb.htm. He says

"Want to do your own effects PCB layouts? This is the place to start.

Written by an electronics professional with over 25 years of experience, this book will lead you from the first thoughts for a PCB layout through the most effective practices for real boards for your effects." He also say "If you want one, send email." but I cannot find him- there is no answer. So now I am asking here.

Thank you for your help, everybody.

I'll check back in after NAMM. I still have the last couple of prototypes to get polished up and spiffed.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Thank you very much, RG. I will keep reading the other information at your site.

I appreciate yout information and your answer!  :)

Thank you everyone.
