Hi all! I'm building another wah-wah using the tone-pad volume pedal mod (http://www.tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=59). Last time I built one the volume did not go off all the way do to the need for the pot to be rotated into a specific position to maximize its use in the wah mode. I.e. if the volume was setup correctly the wah would not be and vs. vs..
I was told a long time ago that I would need to adjust the sweep (I think that was it?) cap value to do this. I don't want to change the tone of the wah. I just want to change the position of where the treble comes in relative to the position of the wah pot.
If I remember correctly (it was a long time ago) if you turned the wah pot so that the volume could go all the way off; when in wah mode it would be all bass and no treble. I need to be able to turn the volume all the way off but still get the normal treble section of the wah.
What cap would I need to work with on this layout? And what value would be a good start (and do I go up in values or down)?

I'm thinking a 200k pot might be better in a wah/volume pedal like this?

The inherent problem that wah/volume pedals have is that both modes use the same pot. This means that if you adjust the pot for zero volume, you might not like the wah sweep and vice versa. Nature of the beast. You wouldn't want to mess with the sweep cap because that will definitely change the sound of your wah pedal, and not really do anything to help with the volume pedal part.

You could also do it the way Bespeco did/does:  Use a stereo pot.  Better buy some De-Oxit to go along with it...

That would work if there were two pots that operated indepedent from eachother. Then you could set both how you wanted them.

Well I am not wah guru but once I put two pots in one pinion gear, the other was opposite site, I used linear pot

I did up a one side/the other side...dual channel volume control like this once.
I got the mounting of the two pots opposite each other, so that a flexible  hose could be fit between the shafts. Then I mounted to the tube [this was the tricky part] a wheel which turned both pots at the same time...roll foot over wheel to turn both pots, one Cw / one CCw
