There's three layers and a drumbeat, all recorded on my Boss RC-2. I wasn't the most sober when I recorded this originally, but as far as I remember the weird background noise is just a delay set to infinite repeats and me playing some sort of chromatic jig, the "bassline" is my Whammy set for an octave down into my ring modulator into an octavia and into either my Metalzone or Blues Driver (both modded, can't remember which I used, might not have used any?). The little squeely part is just me touching the tip of the guitar cable using my Whammy set for 2 octave up into a distortion. I EQ'ed the track a bit to try to bring out the ring modulation and to get some of the treble out of there (it was kinda piercing with that high pitched squeel). Anyways, it's nothing to be taken too seriously, so enjoy!

The sample you posted is fun but it's hard to really tell what the ring mod is doing.

Here's a clip of my Maestro RM-1 with a distortion unit before it. www.mrdwab.com/john/Ringmod.mp3
I have a few more clips here: www,mrdwab.com/john/soundclipspage.html

Were you going to do some other clips as well?
Also, I just noticed that the link I posted for the other clips had a typo...should be www.mrdwab.com/john/soundclipspage.html

I just reinstalled Windows on my recording machine, so I'm not quite set up yet. I'll just try to get some more loops thrown together I guess, that's the easiest method for me to get little clips down. I did one yesterday that was all ringmod, so I'll get that posted soon.

Also, I tried running my setup like you have, with the distortion in front of the ringmod and I didn't care for how it sounds. That was one of my goals when I put mine together, I wanted it to be usable without the need for a booster in front of it. As I recall, I only have a gain of 4.7 (47k/10k), but it's enough to get those diodes to turn on.
