This may sound stupid but, I'm new to digital and thought it would be interesting to clone some digital stuff, now here is my big question, can I copy the DSP chips, such as the ones found in a digital delay and all those other digital effects? What I'm saying is, you can write to them, so I hope it would be possible to somehow copy existing ones.

thanks

You possibly could copy the DSP code, although they're probably protected against copying in some way. The code will almost certainly be copyrighted though so to do so would be violating copyright laws.

All modern microprocessors have security features to protect the software from tampering. I highly doubt that any manufacturer will let unprotected ICs out in the wild.

Also if you are in the U.S. you have to not only deal with copyright and theft legal issues but also the DMCA.

No copying for you. ;)
