No doubt this has been asked over and over, i've done a search and found some mods on here, what have you done to your Boss CS 3 to make it more useable and was it a success?

I've tried something called "Fat body mod"
The pedal still sounds awfull.

I might have tried the same one, the indy guitarist one.  Wasn't that impressed, I even had the opportunity to a/b it with a stock one at practice one time.  It does sound different, just not like an LA-2A sounds different than the stock cs-3.  But thats not happening from changing a couple caps, no matter what.  If you have specific goals, like more bass, or more treble, or less compression on bass notes, or something like that, you could do it, and probably be very happy with the mods, but I don't think its such a naive design that it can easily and obviously be made to sound a world better for every application.

I haven't heard compression out of any stompboxes (including ones I've made, modded, and use) that sound anywhere near as good as reputable rack compressors, to be honest.

Right fella's thanks for the info, i've seen a list  for the Indie guitarist mods i'll perhaps give them a try. I have an La2a under construction for my mlnl studio. I was looking for chicken pickin country type sound, a Ross or Dynacomp pcb is on its way, i'm not sure which to build for this style of playing.
